TBI LIBRARY
Dear TBI Community,
Hello everyone! I am excited to share that we are
embarking on an important, new initiative for the library,
which is establishing the TBI Archives. As a current
graduate student studying Library Science and History,
with a concentration in archives, at Queens College, I
am thrilled to lead this project.
When cleaning, Amanda Greenawalt and others
came across old materials from TBI, including
photographs, board meeting minutes, previous editions
of the Tablet, etc. These archival materials are vital to
our congregants, as it records both the history of TBI
and the stories of individuals in our community. I have
purchased archival boxes and folders that are
specifically designed to protect, organize, and preserve
our archival materials for generations to come.
I would like to spend the next few months
reorganizing our archival materials into the new boxes
and folders to prevent further wear and tear. Following
the reorganization, we can explore ways to digitally
preserve the materials, so that they would be readily
accessible to our community (and others) through the
main TBI website.
If you would like to assist with the reorganization of
our archival materials and the creation of the TBI
Archives, please feel free to contact me via
library@tbiport.org. Depending on interest in the project,
we may look to establish a TBI Archives Advisory Board.
Additionally, please do not hesitate to reach out with
any questions or concerns you may have about this
project.
Best,
Samantha, TBI Librarian
