Shalom, Friends.
HaBaita, they’re finally home!!
Along with their families and Jews around the
world, we prayed for the release of our kidnapped
hostages for two years. And on Monday, Oct. 13, our
prayers were answered as we had hoped – when
the 20 remaining living hostages were reunited with
their families.
It was 4 a.m. in New York, and many of us were
glued to our televisions, thirsting to see loved ones
reunited. Wives ran into the embrace of their
husbands, as two halves become whole. Parents
hugged their sons so tightly, it appeared they were
glued together. Fathers reached out to their small
children, who didn’t even recognize their abba after
a two-year absence. Brothers and sisters
enveloped their missing brother as the close sibling
bond was reaffirmed. And the tears, the copious
tears – of joy, and maybe even disbelief.
