Spring has finally arrived and the preschool is embracing every moment!
In addition to celebrating the daily mitzvahs taking place in our classrooms, we are always looking for opportunities to
teach about the importance of giving back to our community. We celebrated Purim by baking our own Hamentashen,
participating in a fun-filled carnival and dressing up in costumes. After our Purim celebrations, we donated our pasta
boxes-turned-groggers to Our Lady of Fatima in Port Washington. Thank you to all the TBI Preschool families for helping
us by providing the donations and modeling tzedakah for the kids.
Passover arrived and with it, lots of singing, searching for the Afikomen, clearing out Chametz, and yummy treats. Our
toddler 2’s and our 2 year old friends performed songs in their classrooms for their families and had delicious matzah
treats–there was a lot of hopping around as those frogs that Pharaoh found in his bed (AND on his head and toes). The 3s
were fantastic on stage singing their Passover songs . Our Pre-k classes were amazing telling the story of Passover
dressed in costume and singing songs as the story was told. We were all so impressed! Our teachers worked so hard
with the children to create crafts, handmade Haggadahs and to learn the Passover story, prayers and songs. Everyone
enjoyed Passover treats in the social hall after the performances. While the spreads and Matzah were great, the star of
every feast was the Matzah Rocky Road Crunch handmade by all the classes! It was so delicious that nearly all of it was
gone and our families wanted the recipe!
We are excited to announce the arrival of our class pets-baby caterpillars! We can’t wait to watch their metamorphoses,
watch them develop, grow and then release them out into the world as beautiful butterflies.
As Spring starts to turn to summer and the end of the school year we have so many enriching activities coming up. In
May we learn all about the important helpers in our community during People in Our Neighborhood week. We culminate
the celebration with Truck Day! The 4s have started their special unit of study about Israel . We conclude with a special
